Crank Emergency Flashlights – Technical Details

In this section, we discuss the technical requirements and specifications for emergency flashlights.

Technical Requirements

Emergency Flashlights have the following technical requirements associated with their usage.v

1)Uniformity

The ratio of maximum/ minimum illuminance (Total Luminous Flux incident on a surface/ Area LED – Light Emitting Diode) should not be greater than 40/1

Technical Specifications for Crank Emergency Flashlights

Most Crank Emergency Flashlights follow the below mentioned technical specifications.

1) Internal Battery Type – Usually three batteries with 3/2AA 600mAH / 3.6V NIMH. To re-charge the internal battery, spin the generator’s lever located at the center back of the product & maintain the spinning speed at no less than 130 rpm or faster. During the charging process, the green LED located on the back close to flashlight front should be ‘On’ to indicate charging in progress.

2) Outer Power Voltage - 4.4 +/- 0.2V or 6.1 +/- 0.1V Current: 230 +/- 20mA or 420 +/- 50mA

3) Mobile phone charging - First hand wind the generator for one min (130 rev/min). Then, connect the charging cable to the MT-023 DC outlet and switch to the correct output voltage to be used for charging. Connect the other end of the cable to the cell phone charging socket & then spin the generator for another minute to re-charge the mobile phone. However, do not remove the connecting cable after spinning the generator since charging is still in process at the moment. Phone calls can be made while the cable is connected.
